I thought you might like to see a few photo's that I took in York. The one above was taken with a longish exposure and I lifted the end of the lens during the shot while elongated the people in the frame. I processed it using photoshop, saturating the colour. The final effect looks more like a painting than a photograph.
This is the Emperor Constantine his statue sits outside of York Minister. He was believed to be the first Christian Roman Emperor.
From Emperor to Fairy. This little lady was relaxing in a shop window, it was strange because I was looking for something to photograph when she caught my eye I think she may have been waiting for me.
I really like this image the girl was sitting reading and was unaware of my presence, I love the way the light is catching her hair and the minster makes a lovely backdrop. It is a tranquil image.
This busker was taking a break sitting in front of the fountains.
An alleyway in York city centre. I preferred it in Mono than colour, I only wish there had been a cat in the alley it would have completed it for me. Never mind I could always add one in photoshop.
Finally the following are of the people who live and work in this fantastic city.

A super variety of photos! Love the last one - wonder what he was thinking about?!
Lovely images. Like the effect of the first one. Going to have to try that!
Cheers
Great series of photos. The b/w portrait is wonderful and I am intrigued by the first one. You are right as it does look like a painting!
Very pleasant atmosphere!
This whole series is very nice and VERY well done. But I too, especially like the one with the girl on the bench reading. The lighting is great, and so is the composition.
Street stories...yes, wonderful!
Have a great weekend, my friend!
Regards from Romania!
Kev - please send me an email. I live in Cramlington and may even have taught you!!
There are so many terrific photo opportunities in York. I liked all your pictures, especially the last one. I too wonder what he was thinking about.
The modern "Thinking Man" ... really like that last B&W photo. And the fairy is so whimsical.
they are perfect all of them. i choose the church with the bench and the sun shining for my favorite of today. but i do love them all. you captured the people to use without words
such story-filled photos ... I like the abstract effects in the first one
Lovely photo story! You made good use of your camera and captured some beautiful images.
Every one of these are great. I really love the first one. I've done numerous motion blurs but always of trees, or reeds or other boring things. I'm going to have to try it with something with lots of color like you did here - really nice.
I love the creativity you used in the top photo, this place looks charming. The last photo is great - I too wonder what was on his mind!
Love the top photo! And the day trip was fantastic! Thanks for all those great shots.
Hi Kev,
i love the effect on the first one,
I visited Bath two weeks back for a photo op, funny almost the same scene as you posted, same architecture, performers, the girls, alleys and landmarks.
i truly enjoyed that one.
best regards,
Dave
